NHS 3DE Magnet Expectations

Acceptance

• Commitment to four years 9-12th grade
• Because students are taking an "experience" above and beyond the normal academic curriculum, we do expect that students can maintain good grades, behavior, and attendance
• Bus transport is provided for in-district students; out of district families will need to provide their own transport
• Continued inclusion in the program means students maintain the following expectations:
  • good academic standing (passing all content area courses)
  • good behavior
  • good attendance

3DE Pathway

• 9th grade
  • regular: peer leadership (3DE case challenge experience) and American Government (blended course with 3DE case challenge experience)
  • AP route: Blended course - AP Government and 3DE case challenge experience
• 10th grade
  • 3DE case challenge experience during Advisement
• 11th grade
  • regular: Entrpreneurship
  • AP route: Blended course -  AP Seminar and Entrepreneurship
• 12th grade
  • regular: Senior Consultancy (3DE Capstone)
  • AP route: Blended course - AP Research (AP Capstone)
  • Every 3DE student is expected to complete a digital portfolio created over the four years in the program

EXIT

• Students can choose to exit the program at the end of each school year. We understand that students may change their minds and choose a different pathway. We support these choices.
• Once a student exits, they cannot re-enter.
• For the magnet designation, students must complete four years of the magnet program.
• In senior year, students will receive the following:
  • a 3DE stole
  • 3DE magnet seal on their diplomas
  • 3DE magnet designation on their transcripts
