The Northview High School Cecilian Singers is an auditioned treble ensemble dedicated to musical excellence, leadership, and community. Comprised of students from diverse backgrounds, interests, and grade levels, this talented group of vocalists comes together to create an environment of support, camaraderie, and artistic growth.

Known for their precision, passion, and professionalism, the Cecilian Singers consistently earn superior ratings at the Georgia Music Educators Association’s Large Group Performance Evaluation. Their performances reflect a deep commitment to refining their craft, embracing musical challenges, and working as a unified ensemble.

Beyond the stage, the choir cultivates leadership and connection. Members not only develop advanced vocal technique and musicianship, but also learn the value of mentorship, collaboration, and shared purpose. The ensemble serves as a space where students grow not only as artists, but as confident, compassionate individuals.

Whether performing classical repertoire, contemporary works, or pieces that celebrate global musical traditions, the Northview Cecilian Singers strive to uplift and inspire. Their presence at GMEA is a testament to their dedication, artistry, and the vibrant musical community they represent.

Mason Copeland is a distinguished choral conductor, organist, and educator based in the greater Atlanta area. Since 2016, he has served as Director of Choirs at Northview High School in Johns Creek, Georgia, where he leads a dynamic and award-winning choral program. Under his direction, Northview choirs have consistently earned Superior ratings at festivals, and in 2023, he was honored as Northview’s Teacher of the Year. Most recently, the school’s Cecilian Singers were invited to perform at the 2026 Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference in Athens, Georgia.

In addition to his work in education, Mason has over a decade of experience in church music ministry. He currently serves as Organist and Choirmaster at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Roswell, Georgia, where he is dedicated to sacred music and worship leadership. His previous positions include Organist and Music Associate at Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta and Organist and Choirmaster at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newnan, Georgia. An accomplished collaborative pianist and organist, Mason regularly performs with schools, churches, and arts organizations throughout the region.

Mason holds dual Master of Music degrees in Choral Conducting and Organ Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studied with Dominick DiOrio and Janette Fishell. While at IU, he served as an Associate Instructor in the Choral Department and a Graduate Assistant in the Organ Department. His early training includes studies at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan with Thomas Bara.
