Northview School Counseling Mission Statement

The Northview High School Counseling Program aligns with Northview High School’s mission to instill excellence in academics, arts, and athletics and Fulton County Schools’ vision for all students to learn to their full potential. Through a comprehensive, data-informed school counseling program, we support each student’s academic success, life-readiness, and equitable access to opportunities.

Northview School Counseling Program Focus

The Northview Counseling Department collaborates with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders to implement a comprehensive school counseling program that:

  • Promotes equitable access to academic, college, and career opportunities
  • Supports students in developing 21st-century skills and life-readiness competencies
  • Uses data-driven practices to identify and address barriers to student success
  • Fosters student growth in academic achievement, college and career readiness, and social/emotional development

Expected Student Outcomes

As a result of participating in the Northview Counseling Program, students will demonstrate growth in:

  • Access: Participation in rigorous coursework, college and career pathways, and school opportunities
  • Life-Readiness: Development of the knowledge, skills, and mindsets necessary for postsecondary success
