The guide above outlines the step-by-step process students must follow to select courses and register for the 2026–2027 school year. It explains important deadlines, course selection expectations, and policies regarding schedule changes, AP placements, and online courses. Students are responsible for reviewing course options, completing required forms, and meeting all deadlines to ensure accurate scheduling.

Northview Pathways and Optional Schools of Study: 

The pathways graphic the many pathway options available at Northview within our four Schools of Study: Science & Technology, Medicine, Business & Leadership, and Art & Design.

Students who successfully complete all courses within a pathway will earn a Diploma Seal, which indicates to colleges advanced learning in that area. Some pathways also require successful completion of an End of Pathway Assessment (EOPA), as noted in the Course 4 column.

In addition to these pathways and Schools of Study, all Northview students have access to a wide variety of electives across every department, allowing them to explore their interests and future goals (see the course catalog for a full list of electives).

English Language Arts (ELA) Course Pathways - Northview’s English Language Arts program provides students with multiple course options designed to support their interests, strengths, and academic goals. Students may choose from on-level, Honors, Accelerated, AP, and college-level courses as they progress through high school. These pathways help students strengthen their reading, writing, research, critical thinking, and communication skills while preparing for success in college, careers, and beyond. Students can also explore specialized interests through electives such as Journalism, Literary Magazine, Yearbook, Speech & Debate, Writer’s Workshop, and Mythology. In addition, the ELA Department has put together an ELA Department Syllabi center for the 26-27 SY. Families are encouraged to work with teachers and counselors to select the courses that best align with their student’s abilities, interests, and future plans. Graduation requirements include Literature & Composition I and II, along with two additional core ELA courses.

Math Course Pathways - Fulton County Schools offers several math pathways to help students learn at a pace that matches their strengths and goals. Beginning in middle school, students can follow on-level, accelerated, or advanced pathways that provide opportunities to take higher-level math courses throughout high school. Our goal is to ensure every student has access to a challenging and supportive math program that meets their individual needs. Families are encouraged to work with teachers and counselors to select the pathway that is the best fit for their student’s academic progress and future goals. Graduation requirements include 4.0 credits of high school math, including Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra (formerly Algebra 2), and a choice of 4th year math.
