Credit Recovery

Credit Recovery Options at Northview

Northview offers online credit recovery courses that allow students to work independently, at their own pace, and on their own time.

Fulton County Credit Recovery (FCCR) courses are available during the regular school year only and are taken in addition to a student’s six scheduled classes.

Students may complete coursework in the Virtual Lab with Ms. Okolie or at home. However, All FCCR assessments must be completed in person in the Virtual Lab with Ms. Okolie.

Eligibility Criteria & Cost

  • Students must have previously attempted and failed the course
  • FCCR: No cost
  • Georgia Virtual Credit Recovery (GVCR):
    • First attempt is free
    • $25 fee required if the course expires and needs reactivation

Note: Most Northview students participate in FCCR.

How to Register

To enroll in a credit recovery course:

  1. Schedule a meeting with your assigned counselor
  2. Your counselor will:
    • Confirm which credits you need to recover
    • Assist you with course registration

Important Information for Student-Athletes

If you are a student-athlete planning to maintain NCAA eligibility:

  • You cannot use FCCR or GVCR for credit recovery
  • The NCAA only accepts credit recovery completed through:
    • Fulton Virtual School (FVS)
    • Georgia Virtual School (GAVS)
    • Traditional summer school
    • Retaking the course in a standard classroom setting
